Yes, all of the rice that we provide is gluten-free. Gluten is found majorly in wheat or products like oats, barley, spelt (hulled wheat), Kamut, or rye.
Sometimes, we tend to cook more rice than we consume. This leaves us with extra rice. You can freeze the leftover rice, defrost and heat it to consume again.
It is unsafe to reheat and eat rice the following day. It’s because Bacillus Cereus & other bacteria are found in dry rice. The spores of these bacteria can endure even during the cooking process. When the rice is left at room temperature, the spores grow & produce toxins which may cause food poisoning.
We recommend that you cool the rice as soon as possible, just after cooking, and store it in a refrigerator. Then, when you reheat it, make sure the rice is hot throughout the dish before eating. Do not keep the cooked rice in the fridge for more than one day. Also, you shouldn't heat it more than once.
Rice comes with a natural odor. It’s an important characteristic of every rice grain to have a particular smell. The scent could be a nutty or natural aroma. As the product ages over the years, the volatile aroma ingredients dispel. People with high sensitivity levels can determine the age of the rice by the way it smells.
Jashn Foods guarantees its rice is fresh to the Best Before date mentioned on each pack. Rice is best when stored in a cool, dry place. You should keep it out of the sunlight and put it in an airtight container. All this slows the process of oxidizing the rice bran that can cause rancidity.
GI or Glycaemic Index refers to the relative ranking of carbohydrates in foods in line with how they affect blood glucose levels. Carbohydrates with a low GI value (55 or less) lead to a lower/slower rise in blood glucose or insulin level as they are slowly digested, absorbed, and metabolized.
Jashn basmati rice, especially long-grain rice, has naturally low GI. As a result, it provides energy and helps you feel fuller for longer.
