Burnt Garlic Fried Rice Recipe

Yes, I’m going to share with you all — the burnt garlic fried rice recipes. This is a popular fragrant rice recipe with an Indo-Chinese twist. You can find this rice recipe easy to make.

Preparing your burnt garlic fried rice at home is similar to cooking fried rice, except for a bit of difference. While we use different vegetables for veg. fried rice, we use finely chopped garlic for burnt garlic fried rice. 

You can stir-fry the chopped garlic and then mix it with the rice. Or, mix the rice with the fried garlic. You can choose whichever method you like. 

While preparing the veggies to be added to your burnt garlic fried rice, you can use a chef's knife or a food processor. 

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you prepare burnt garlic fried rice at home:

Ingredients you need:

  • Freshly cooked rice/leftover cooked rice
  • Oil/ghee
  • Chopped onions
  • Chopped garlic
  • Mixed vegetables (capsicum, carrot, beans)
  • Soya sauce
  • Black pepper powder
  • Vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Spring onions
  • Fresh coriander leaves

Method to prepare burnt garlic fried rice:

  1. Rinse 1 cup of Jashn basmati rice. Rinse it well until the water runs clear. Once done, soak the rice for about 20 to 30 minutes. 
  2. Once the rice is soaked, drain the excess water and keep it aside.
  3. Add three cups of water to a pan and bring it to a boil.
  4. Once it starts boiling, add the soaked, drained rice to the water. Stir, cover the lid, and let it cook for a few minutes.
  5. Once done, let it cool down to room temperature.
  6. Now, take a pan and heat oil/ghee in it.
  7. Add minced or chopped garlic and let it cook until it turns brown. Make sure you don’t overburn it.
  8. Now, add chopped onions and cook them until translucent.
  9. Add mixed veggies of your choice and sauté everything well.
  10. Now, add the cooked rice or leftover rice to the mix and sauté well.
  11. Add soy sauce, black pepper powder, vinegar, and salt to taste. Mix it well.
  12. Garnish with spring onion and serve it hot with a side dish of your choice, such as chicken Manchurian or veg. Manchurian.

Note:

  • You can use any rice variety you like. 
  • Take vegetables as per your choice, or you can simply skip them.
